Biata Roytburd was born in Odessa, Ukraine and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1990. She has been living and producing ceramics in Brooklyn since 2007.
She has taught Ceramic Illustration at Manhattanville College, assisted workshops at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and participated in sculpture workshops at the Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts. She currently spends her time making her work and teaching ceramics.
